140 bloody terrorists killed as security forces continue crackdowns
AT-KABUL: More than one hundred and forty Taliban militants have been killed andsixty two insurgents have been woundedinintense crackdowns conducted by Afghan defense and security forces over the past two days, officials said.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan NationalArmy (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan NationalPolice (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areasof Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Farah, Kandahar, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Urzgan, Baghlan, Takhar, Badakhshan, Faryab, Balkh and Helmand provinces.
Statement said that in these operations 140insurgentswere killed and 62others wounded.
Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations in the past 24 hours, 52 Taliban fighters were killed and three vehicle belonged to the enemy destroyed in Daymirdad district of Maidan Wardak, 33 insurgents were killed and 15 others wounded in Jani Khill and Ahmad Khill districts of Paktia, 27 militants were killed and 15 others wounded in Baghlan Markazi district of Baghlan, 15 rebels were killed and 16 others wounded in Khas Urzgan district and Trinkot area center of Urzgan province.
Similar, 11 militants were killed and 10 others wounded in Muqor, Qarabagh and Andar district of Ghazni, four insurgents were killed and two others wounded in Nadali district of Helmand, three rebels were killed and one wounded in Batikot district of Nangarhar, two terrorist were killed and three other wounded in Soor villages of central areas of Farah province.
In past 24 hours,12planed clearing operations,and101Special Forcesoperations conducted in different provinces; also, Air forces conducted85aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including17 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANAdiscovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
