140-meter-long Bridge built in Khost

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: A 140-meter-long and eight-meter-wide bridge was inaugurated in Khost province to connect Tanai district with Khost city.

The bridge was inaugurated at a ceremony on Wednesday.

The deputy governor of Khost, Abdul Wahid, told reporters that at least $1 million was spent on construction of Segai Bridge, paid by the World Bank.

He said that residents of Tanai district were faced with several problems while driving through the area but the bridge will ease their travel to the district.

Head of the Public Work provincial directorate, Mamur Shah, said 13 bridges were taken into consideration in the strategic plan of the province, made eight years before. He added four of the bridges have been constructed and work is ongoing on two others.

He also said that the remaining seven bridges will be constructed in Khost in upcoming years.
