146 new COVID-19 cases registered in Afghanistan

KABUL: Afghanistan has recorded 146 new positive cases of Coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total tally to 42,609 cases throughout the country, the Ministry of Public Health said Wednesday.

The Ministry said these cases come positive out of 555 suspected samples tested during this period.

35 positive cases were recorded in Kabul, 28 in Herat, 34 in Balkh, 19 in Takhar, nine in Nangarhar, seven in Parwan, six in Kandahar, three in Kunduz, two in Helmand, two in Uruzgan and one in Zabul provinces.

Lamentably, four patients have lost their lives battling the virus and 13 others have fully recovered during this past 24 hours, the health ministry said.

The total recoveries exceeded to 34,967 and the deaths to 1,581 across the country since the outbreak of the virus.
