160 teams compete in Kabul futsal championship

AT-KABUL: Afghan Football Federation said on Saturday that the Kabul futsal championship has been kicked-off where at least 160 teams are participating.

Chief of the Futsal Committee, Deen Mohammad Safi, told Afghanistan Times that the tournament is held to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. All of the teams are from Kabul province.

He said that in the competitions both registered and unregistered futsal teams are taking part.

The event is also aimed to promote the sport, identify talented players for national futsal teams, and provision of an entertainment opportunity to young people in the month of Ramadan.

The matches among 15 local media futsal teams are underway in the Kabul University, and will end next week.
