18 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 18 armed Taliban were killed and four others wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Faryab, Kunduz, Baghlan, Helmand, Nimroz, Khost, Paktiya, Ghazni, Zabul and Kandahar provinces. In these operations 18 rebels were killed and four others were injured.

Five insurgents also were arrested and handed over to concerned judicial officials for further inquiry.

ANP discovered and confiscated significant amount of ammunitions in the operations.
