19 drug smugglers captured
AT-KABUL: Some nineteen people have been arrested in connection with drug crimes in the past week, sources said.
The Court of Criminal Justice Task Force (CJTF) on Tuesday said that law enforcement have arrested 19 from different places in provinces, whom were under criminal proceedings at the moment.
Three smugglers were arrested in a crackdown in Hamid Karzai international airport in Kabul, who planned to transfer heroines to India, added statement.
Statement said that that the investigation is going on over the dossier of the all indicts by the CJTF, which after examining the evidences and arguments from both sides the CJTF will convict the accused traffickers, added statement.
Other 16 drug traffickers were arrested from Kabul, Zabul, Balkh, Kapisa, Nangarhar and Herat provinces.
Some 89 kg heroin, over 18kg opium, 2511 kg hashish, over 59kg chemical and 135 tablets of K discovered and seized from the arrested smugglers, noted the statement.
All the convicted drug traffickers would have defense attorneys for their legal defense and will be convicted after separate judicial trials based on the evidence brought before the court and the Counter Narcotics law of Afghanistan.
