19 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 19 armed Taliban fighters were killed in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Herat, Khost, Maidan Wardak, Helmand, Sar-e-Pul, Kunduz, Takhar, Faryab and Jowzjan provinces. In these operations 19 rebels were eliminated.

One insurgent was also arrested and handed over to the relevant judicial body for further inquiry. ANP recovered huge cache of weapons and ammunition in the operations as well, the ministry claimed.
