AT News
KABUL: Two new factories begins operating in the industrial park of western Herat province.
The factories invested four million dollars and will provide dozens of job opportunities.
These factories operate in the textile and oxygen production sectors.
“We are producing nearly a thousand containers of oxygen a day that entirely cover the demands of the western part of the country, and we can even transfer them to other provinces,” the oxygen plant’s chief, Nasse Ayoub said.
“In the beginning, we had a staff of 12 to 13, but now it has increased to 35,” said Javid Qaderi, head of the detergent factory.
According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), demand for new factories has surged, and hundreds of firms are expected to launch in the coming months around the country.
“Those brothers who are inside or outside Afghanistan and intend to invest, this is the best time for it, Herat especially is a very good platform for investment,” said Nooruddin Azizi, head of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), while travelling to Herat province.
“Nearly 20 percent of factories have been reopened in three to four months, and we hope to see all the factories reopen by the end of the year in Herat and Afghanistan,” said Hamidullah Khadem, head of the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines.
With the activation of new factories, job opportunities have been provided for dozens of citizens, said workers.
“Job opportunities have been provided for us, there are forty-five people working here,” Wahid Ahmad Ahmadi, an employee of the industrial plant, told TOLOnews.
Meanwhile, an exhibition of domestic products was held in Herat industrial park.
Industry owners in Herat province are concerned about importing goods that compete with domestic goods.
“We ask the Islamic Emirate to support us so our high-quality goods are exported beyond Afghanistan,” said Mohammad Amin Jami, a representative of the pharmaceutical.
A new industrial park in Herat will open in one month, said the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
