25 insurgents killed in operations

AT-KABUL: At least 25 armed insurgents were killed and 21 others wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here the Ministry of Interior said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in joint anti-state operations with the Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has killed 25 militants and injured 21 others in different areas of Parwan, Baghlan, Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Jowzjan, Balkh, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Paktiya, Herat, Farah and Helmand provinces.

According to the statement, three Taliban fighters were also held and handed over to the concerned officials for interrogation. The ministry also claimed of recovering huge cache of weapons in the nationwide offensives against the militant groups.
