KABUL: At least 26 Taliban rebels were killed and 20 others wounded during latest military stings conducted by the Afghan security forces in different provinces in the past 24 hours, defense ministry said on Monday.
The Afghan Air Forces targeted Taliban gathering in Imam Sahib district of northern Kunduz province, in which eight Taliban fighters were killed and five others wounded, the Ministry said in a statement.
Six rifles of weapons, three motorbikes and two strongholds of the militants were also destroyed, according to the statement.
Three Taliban fighters were killed and a depot of weapons of the rebels destroyed during the airstrike in Nadali district of southern Helmand province, the statement added.
The Afghan Air Forces targeted militants in Dehrawod district of Uruzgan province that killed six insurgents while three others were wounded, the statement added.
According to the statement, the Afghan security forces supported by the air forces conducted operations in Pashtoon Zarghoon district of Herat province, where three militants were killed and five others wounded.
Also, six rounds of mines planted by the Taliban to target innocent people discovered and defused, mentioned the statement.
Similarly, three rebels were killed and six others wounded during airstrike in Chahar Bolak district of Balkh province, the statement underlined.
