30 passengers trapped in snow rescued in Baghlan

KABUL: Around 30 passengers who got trapped in snow in northern Baghlan province have been rescued by the Afghan security forces, officials said on Sunday.

Days of heavy wind and snowfall crippled the road services and these people were trapped in snow since Saturday.

Baghlan Police Spokesman Javid Basharat said that 30 passengers, who were stranded in snowfall in Shikh Jalal area of Baghlan Markazi district, were rescued by Afghan police and army forces.

Women and children were among the trapped passengers, he said, adding the road has been reopened for traffic and there are no casualties.
