31 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 31 armed Taliban fighters were killed and 18 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Jawzjan, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Khost and Paktiya provinces. In these operations 31 rebels were taken out and 18 others were injured.

Two insurgents were arrested and handed over to the relevant judicial body for interrogation. ANP also seized cache of weapons in the operations, the ministry claimed.
