AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least 32 Daesh militants were killed and some others sustained injuries when Afghan Air Force (AAF) pounded their hideouts in Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province, said officials on Sunday.
The Achin district chief, Haji Ghalib Mujahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News that AAF airstrikes struck Daesh hideouts twice on late Saturday, killing at least 32 Daesh fighters on the spot and wounded some others.
He said the air raids also destroyed a warehouse of weapons and ammunition in Takhto area and inflicted heavy casualties on the insurgents.
Daesh fighters have suffered huge casualties as the AAF raids have left 200 Daesh fighters killed and wounded numerous in this week.
Following the group growing presence and escalation in its activities in the province, President Ashraf Ghani has directed the Ministry of Defense to launch anti-Daesh offensive in the province.
