$32 M Cash Aid Arrived In Kabul, Money Exchangers Protest New Central Bank’s Policy

AT News

KABUL: Da Afghanistan Bank announced on Tuesday a cash package of 32 million dollars arrived in Kabul as part of the humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan.

The Da Afghanistan Bank-central bank welcomed the aid provided by the international donors and urged the relevant organizations to provide more aid to Afghanistan.

The aid arrived amid a protest set by the money-exchangers in Sarai Shahzada, the biggest money market in the country.

They staged the protests in front of Sarai Shahzada in the capital Kabul. They called the new procedure of the central bank unfair.

Da Afghanistan Bank gives the money exchangers a deadline until March 10 to renew their license.

“The license of the money-exchanging service is being issued based on recent situations in the country, so the money-exchangers can refer to Da Afghanistan Bank,” said Mohammad Sabir Momand, a spokesman for Da Afghanistan Bank.
