34 illegal armed men detained in Balkh

KABUL: Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Saturday said 34 illegal armed men along with their weapons and ammunitions have been detained during an operation conducted in northern Balkh province.

MoI in a statement said the arrested 34 armed individuals were charged with disrupting security and public orders in Balkh that have been arrested by police during crackdown in Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital city.

“17 rifles of different weapons, 100 magazines with bullets, 13 vehicles without document with some other military equipment discovered and confiscated from the detained illegal armed men.”

The Ministry said that Afghan National Police will spare no efforts in the fight against any group of criminals, particularly illegal armed individuals and groups—who are behind disrupting security and public orders.
