AT-KABUL: Afghan security forces have killed 36 insurgents and injured many others in a series of military operations launched against anti-state elements in different insecure parts of the country, official sources said on Tuesday.
The 215th Maiwand Military Corps in a media statement said that 33 militants were killed and seven others injured in the past 24 hours during operation in Sangin district of Helmand province.
The statement said that huge cache of arms and ammunitions was also seized in the operation.
But the Taliban insurgents claimed killing eight troops in Sangin operation. Other three militants were killed and five others wounded in a separate operation in Momandara district in eastern Nangarhar province, official said.
It’s worth mentioning that clearance operations being conducting by Afghan forces are very much vital to maintain peace in the country as in the past 24 hours two explosions claimed the lives of nine people where seven of them were belonged to same family in Ghazni province.
