37 militants killed in South

KABUL: At least 37 Taliban fighters have been killed and a senior commander of the group arrested, after clashes erupted between Afghan National Police (ANP) and Taliban insurgents in southern Paktia and Paktika provinces highway, interior ministry said Wednesday.

Security forces killed 37 Taliban terrorists and captured one alive following the clash.

The ministry in a statement said senior commander of Taliban terrorists named Musa was among those killed.

The ANP also seized 1 PK machine gun, 5 AK-47 rifles, 5 motorcycles and some amount of ammunition and military equipments during clashes, added statement.
