43 insurgents join peace process in Nangarhar

AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Monday said that 43 insurgents including Taliban and Daesh loyalists joined the government’s peace process in eastern Nangarhar province.

Four groups of Taliban and Daesh fighters led by Mohammad Ayob, Mohammad Wali and Joma Baz surrendered their weapons and joined peace process in Achin, Nazian and Ghanikhil districts, the NDS said in a statement.

It said that the groups were involved to different subversive activities in the mentioned province, who after recognize the fact on going peace process, severed their ties with militant and joined reconciliation process.

Joining of mentioned armed groups to peace process negatively impacted over insurgency crew in the province, added the statement.
