50 militants killed in military raids

AT-KABUL: At least 50 militants have been killed and 27 more wounded in different crackdown operations that have been carried out by Afghan defense forces within the past day.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Laghman, Ghazni, Kandahar, Zabul, Urzgan, Farah, Jawzjan, Baghlan, Takhar, Faryab, Nimroz and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 50 insurgents were killed and 27 others wounded.

The joint Afghan operation was supported by airstrike.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, 20 Daesh fighters were killed and three motorcycle belonged to the fighters destroyed in Darzab district of Jawzjan, 15 Taliban fighters were killed and 16 other wounded in Khasurzgan district of Urzgan, some ammunition also destroyed in the mentioned district, Seven insurgents killed, six wounded and two stronghold of the enemy destroyed in Nadali, Garmsir and Grishk districts of Helmand, 22 mine also discovered and neutralized in the province, three rebels were killed one wounded in Dai Chopan district of Zabul.

Similar, two insurgents were killed and one wounded in Baghlan Markazi district of Baghlan, two Taliban fighter killed in Poshtroad district of Farah, one killed and two others wounded in Gilan district of Ghazni.

In past 24 hours, 11 planed clearing operations, 22 Special Forces operations conducted in nine provinces; also, Air forces conducted 118 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including six strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
