58 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: As many as 58 armed militants were killed and 23 others injured in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here the Ministry of Interior said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has  conducted joint operations against anti-state elements in different areas of Nangarhar, Parwan, Takhar, Kunduz, Faryab, Sar-e-Pul, Jowzjan, Kandahar, Zabul, Ghazni, Paktika, Farah and Helmand provinces. In these operations 58 rebels were killed and 23 others injured.

Eight Taliban insurgents were also arrested and handed over to the relevant judicial body for interrogation. The ministry claimed that ANP has also discovered huge cache of weapons and ammunition.
