63 insurgents killed in raids: MoD

AT-KABUL: Sixty-three Taliban fighters were killed and 41 others wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours, officials said Sunday.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense (MoD) said that Afghan NationalArmy (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Kunar, Wardak, Paktika, Kandhar, Uruzgan, Herat, Farah, Ghor, Baghlan, Balkh, Jawzjan, Samangan, Kunduz, Takhar, Sar-e-Pul and Helmand provinces.

In these operations, 63 rebels including four commanders were killed and 41 others were injured.

Unfortunately, six army soldiers were killed during operation by enemy firing.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well, mentioned the statement.
