KABUL: At least 65 militants have been killed and 11 others received injuries in multiple extensive military crackdowns conducted by the Afghan security forces in the past 24 hours, security official said Saturday.
Ministry of Defense in a statement said the Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Paktia, Wardak, Farah, Kunduz, Jawzjan and Badghis provinces, in which 65 militants were killed and 11 others wounded.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and Air Forces.
During operations in the past 24 hours, 21 Taliban fighters were killed in Warmamai district of Paktia—16 militants killed in Nirkh district of Maidan Wardak—11 insurgents killed and three others wounded in Anar Dara district of Farah province.
Similarly, seven insurgents killed, three others injured and eight rounds of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were discovered and defused in Khan Abad district of Kunduz—six insurgents were killed and some amount of weapons and ammunition were destroyed in Qush Tepah and Qarqeen districts of Jawzjan and four rebels were killed and four others injured in Balamurghab district of Badghis province.
In past 24 hours, 18 planed clearing operations, and 91 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army, including 28 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
