AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: President Ashraf Ghani has said that six billion dollars would be spent for strengthening the country’s Air Force during the upcoming four years.
While heading a high level delegation, President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday, made a visit to eastern Laghman province, where he met with officials and soldiers of Afghan National Army at 201th Selab Military Corps base.
Addressing the officials and soldiers, President Ghani said the new US strategy for Afghanistan has been dominated by Afghan perspective and the NATO Resolute Support Mission had increased its required support to the Afghan forces.
He revealed that Resolute Support Mission has taken a formal decision to contribute more for strengthening the Afghan security forces.
Earlier, the Laghman governor’s spokesman, Sarhadi Zwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the president arrived at the military base in the morning.
He said the president was accompanied by a high level delegation and the visit was aimed at evaluating the security situation in eastern zone—Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar and Nuristan provinces.
