AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: As fierce gun battle is ongoing between Afghan security forces and militants where at least four security forces and three civilians have been killed in Pul-e-Khumri, the capital of northern Baghlan province, officials said on Tuesday.
Local provincial officials said the incident happened when militants attacked several police check posts in the city. The officials added those injured were shifted to the nearby hospital.
Deputy Director of Baghlan health department, Haleem Ghafoori said that three policemen and two civilians were brought to the hospital where their health conditions reported critical.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
Baghlan has been a northern province with deteriorating security where insurgents and anti-social elements are actively operating in a number of its districts.
