7 policemen killed in separate terror incidents

AT-KABUL: Four policemen were killed and four others wounded, when security forces clashed with militants in southern Uruzgan province.

The incident took place the other night when police surrounded a number of militants in a house in Charchino district of the province, said an official source, adding that the surrounded militants opened fire on security forces killing four policemen, wounded four others.

The source added that one militant was killed, while two others managed to escape.

According to another report, a suicide bomb blast killed three policemen and wounded five others in southern Helmand province, said a security official in the province.

Muhammad Ismail Hotak, deputy police chief of Helmand province, said that a suicide car bomber detonated his explosives near a convoy of police in Lashkargah, the capital city of Helmand. The blast led to killing of three policemen and injured five others. The convoy was on its way to Kabul, he added.

General Ayub Salangi, the Deputy Minister of Interior, tweeted that one policeman has been killed and four others injured in a suicide blast on a convoy of police in Helmand.
