81 insurgents killed in military raids
AT-KABUL: At least 81 militants were killed and 36 others wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns within past 24 hours.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kunar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Urzgan, Zabul, Farah, Badghis, Faryab, Balkh, Sar-e-Pul, Baghlan and Helmand provinces.
Statement said that in these operations81insurgentsincluding 36 Daesh affiliates were killed and 70others wounded.
Afghan forces succeeded to arrest 10 militants and handed over them to judicial organs for further inquiry.
Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations in the past 24 hours,31 Taliban were killed, 14 wounded, three vehicle and five motorbike belonged to enemy were destroyed in Parchamn district of Farah, 17 insurgents were killed, seven including Taliban Shadow chief district Mullah Qudratullah wounded and five others arrested in Chamtal district of Balkh, 11 militants were killed and seven injured in Dehrawod district and Trinkot center of Urzgan, six rebels were killed and three strongholds belonged to the enemy destroyed in Sayad district of Sar-e-Pul, four insurgents were killed and six other wounded in Muqur and Andar district of Ghazni province.
Similar, four Daesh affiliates were killed in Khogianai district of Nangarhar, three insurgents killed in Kishk Kohna district of Herat, two Daesh fighters were killed and two other wounded in Noor Gul district of Kunar, two militants were killed and five others arrested in Baghlan Markzi district of Baghlan and one insurgents killed in Nahr-e-Saraj district of Helmand province.
In past 24 hours, 13planed clearing operations, and 90 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air forces conducted131aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including10strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
