86 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 86 Taliban insurgents were killed and four others wounded in different operations launched by the security forces within the past 24 hours across the county, security officials said on Wednesday.

“The national army with the cooperation of the national police and the national directorate of security operatives, conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different area of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Logar, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Ghor, Farah, Herat, Takhar, Kunduz, Jowzjan, and Helmand provinces,” the defense ministry said in a statement.

“In these operations, 86 insurgents were killed and four others injured,” it said.

According to statement seven insurgents arrested during the operation.

“Unfortunately, seven soldiers were also killed during the clashes.”
