KABUL: Chief of the Futsal Committee at the football federation, Deen Mohammad Safi, said the Afghan futsal team is working hard to win the AFC futsal championship.
The AFC futsal championship would start on November 2015 in Malaysia and all Asian teams will compete in different groups for winning the cup. So far the Asian futsal teams were not categorized.
The AFC has 47 member associations split into five regions, 12 from West Asia, six from Central Asia, seven from South Asia, 10 from East Asia and 12 from South East Asia.
Safi said the Afghan team is exercising hard and are well-prepared for AFC’s competitions. He said the national team would compensate their previous loses in the international competitions.
Afghan futsal team is ranked 147th in the FIFA ranking system which shows the lowest level in compare to the other countries of the world. After Cook Islands and Bhutan, Afghan futsal team is at the bottom in the ranking.
Chief of Futsal Committee said that Afghan team has lofty determination to gain the first or second position in the matches and to forward Afghanistan in appropriate place of the FIFA ranking.
“Our team having high moral and they received tactic and technique trainings in the last four years, we are hopeful they would bring glory,” he said.
Officials of the football federation said that futsal is promoting in the country and so far 32 futsal teams in different age categories are exercising in the football federation and around 72 gymnasiums were inaugurated alone in the capital.
