AT-KABUL: The Europe Business Assembly (EBA) has nominated the Grand Technology Resources (GTR), an Afghan company, for prestigious international award.
The GTR has earned reputation across the world, especially in Asia, as an ICT company that employed cutting-edge technology and provides optimum quality services.
Talking to Afghanistan Times, the GTR’s president Mirwais Alizai said that the Socrates Committee has nominated the company for the prestigious international award in quality and management spheres – best enterprise in the Europe Business Assembly.
He said that excellent business reputation, effective management and constant growth of the enterprise were the main factors behind this success.
The GTR was shortlisted among 146 companies. Now four companies will compete in the final round. Alizai was presented with the “best manager of the year” title.
He said the GTR was chosen when ranked against the following criteria such as investment attraction, high technologies and quality with professional staffs and modern management methods. The research was conducted by the analytical center of the EBA Oxford, the United Kingdom, with aim to select successful dynamic companies, from joining the prime business destination project and their special support and investment promotion.
The best enterprise awards will be presented in Montreux, Switzerland, during the summit of “excellence in quality” from June 30 to July 2, 2015. The event will be attended by prominent regional companies, businessmen and international quality experts.
Best enterprise winners receive the right to use the United Kingdom (UK) registered award logo for advertising purposes showing recognition in accordance to the highest international standards. Information about the winners will be published on the EBA website in the official catalogue and in the Socrates Almanac. European quality recipients will receive consultation from the EBA experts concerning company promotion for national and regional markets.
The GTR is one of the leading ICT company in Afghanistan. It was founded in Malaysia in 2003. In 2006, the company opened its office in Afghanistan. In 2009, Mr. Alizai purchased the company shares and announced the company as ‘fully Afghan’ with main office in Kabul.
