Kabul: Officials of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines say that their biggest problem is the lack of sufficient electricity in the industrial parks.
The industrialists’ press conference “Regarding the fate of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines” was held in Kabul today with the presence of dozens of the country’s industrialists.
Abdul Jabbar Safi, head of Chamber of Industries and Mines of Kabul province said: Millions of dollars were given to Afghanistan in the last 20 years, but the fundamental works were not done.
He also added that employment opportunities should be provided for the country’s citizens so that the industrialists can reduce imports and increase export.
The head of the Chamber of Industries said that problems of the industrialists should be solved by an expert team with detailed planning, and besides that, the government should be supporting the industries.
Safi added that industrial parks have been built in Herat, Kandahar and Mazar-e-Sharif, and these industrial parks need the full support of the government.
He considered the lack of sufficient electricity in the country’s industrial parks as one of the important problems of industrialists and said: Millions of dollars go abroad due to imports, which otherwise will result in economic growth with investment in Afghanistan.
On the other hand, Shirbaz Kaminzadeh; the general head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines said: the need for electricity in the industrial park of Kabul province is 200 kilowatts of electricity; but we have 20 kilowatts, which is our biggest problem.
He stated that the industrial parks in Kabul produce more than 280 types of goods, which reduces our production due to excessive taxes, lack of sufficient electricity and interference from the municipality.
The general head of the country’s Chamber of Industry and Mines emphasized that the Islamic Emirate should try to solve the problems of the industrialists, which has paved the way for progress in the country.
This is despite the fact that after the establishment of the Islamic Emirate in the country and the cessation of foreign aid from the international community, economic have increased.
