KABUL: With 279 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, Afghanistan now officially has 32,951 coronavirus cases across the country. The Ministry of Public Health on Sunday said that out of 592 suspected samples, 279 were reported positive.
38 patients have lost their lives battling the virus and 202 others recovered during this period, the health ministry said.
80 cases recorded in Bamyan, 43 cases in Khost, 33 in Badakhshan, 24 in Kabul, 17 in Herat, 14 in Takhar, 14 in Logar, 11 in Kunduz, 10 in Paktia, nine in Paktika, eight in Kapisa and five cases each in Farah, Badghis and Baghlan provinces.
The total recoveries have reached to 19,366 and the deaths to 864 across the country.
