Afghanistan records 135 new covid-19 cases

KABUL: Afghan health authorities announced 135 fresh Covid-19 cases recorded within last 24 hours that brought the total numbers of the infected patients to around 34,740 in Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Public Health said Tuesday that out of 637 samples in the past 24 hours, 135 of them tested positive in the laboratories across the country.

During this period of time, 174 Covid-19 patients have recovered and 24 others last their lives battling the virus.

According to the ministry, 51 cases recorded in Kabul, 37 in Herat, 16 in Ghor, nine in Balkh, nine in Logar, four in Kunduz, three in Laghman, three in Baghlan, two in Takhar and one in Kunar provinces.

The total tally of recoveries reached to 21,454 and the dead to 1062 across the country as of now.

However the spread the pandemic virus in Afghanistan seems to be fallen down, the ignorance of medical recommendation and social distance could bring the number of Covid-19 patients back to a surge.
