Afghanistan records 28 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths in a single day

KABUL: Afghanistan has recorded 28 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths around the country in the past 24 hours, said the Ministry of Public Health on Sunday.

The total tally since the outbreak of the epidemic reached to 56,322 cases across the country.

The new cases were reported positive out of 1,994 suspected samples in the past 24 hours.

Another 19 patients have fully recovered during the same period of time.

The total recoveries have exceeded to 50,013 and the deaths to 2,472 since the outbreak of the pandemic started around the country nearly one year ago.
