Afghanistan Sees Significant Drop in Coronavirus Cases

KABUL: The Ministry of Public Health reported seven new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, indicating a significant decrease in the infection in the past few days.

The total tally since the outbreak of the epidemic has reached to 55,714 cases around the country.

The ministry said on Saturday that the new cases were reported out of 1,106 suspected samples tested during the same period of time.

Three other patients have fully recovered and there was no death reported during this period of time, the ministry added.

The total recoveries have exceeded to 49,288 and the deaths to 2,443 in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic since the outbreak of the virus started one year ago.
