Afghanistan’s coronavirus cases hit over 4K

KABUL: Ministry of Public Health on Saturday said that it has recorded 253 new positive cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 4,033 across Afghanistan.

Health Ministry Deputy, Wahidullah Majroh in a press conference said that out of 529 suspected samples, 253 were tested positive.

The new cases are reported four in Kabul, 71 in Herat, 43 in Balkh, 16 in Paktia, 39 in Nangarhar, 24 in Takhar, 22 in Jawzjan, eigh in Ghazni, 11 in each Laghman and Kunduz provinces. One case reported each in Bamyan, Panjshir, Kunar and Nuristan provinces. By new recording the number of cases reached to 4,033.

29 infected have been recovered and six others died in the past 24 hours, he said.

The total recuperative reached to 502 and the dead are to 115 since the outbreak of the virus.

Mr. Majroh called on people to take the virus seriously and pay heed to the health advices in order to stop the wild spread of the pandemic.
