Addressing a press conference, the AGO’s spokesman Abdul Basir Azizi said that Muhammad Younus Nawandish and Rohullah Aman, two former Kabul mayors, were summoned to give explanation over corruption and mismanagement allegations, raised through social media.

He said that Nawandish visited the AGO to clear allegation against him, but another former Kabul mayor, Rohullah Aman, who was also summoned to answer questions over corruption charges, yet to visit the office. He said that Aman is currently abroad.

Azizi without giving further details said that they summoned the two former mayors when they received complaints through social and print media.

He hoped that Aman would also appear in the AGO, adding that the probe into Nawandish corruption charges was on the cards. He furthered that details of the investigations would be shared with the media after the investigation was over.
