Ahmadi appoints as acting Minister of Commerce

AT-KABUL: President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday appointed his economic advisor Ajmal Ahmadi as acting Minister of Commerce and Industries.

“In line with the paragraph 13 of article 64 of the constitution of Afghanistan, the appointment of Mr. Ajmal Ahmadi as acting of minister of commerce and industries of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is approved,” Ghani’s decree states.

Recently during a meeting at Presidential Palace with Afghan businessmen and media outlets, Ahmadi expressed his deepest gratitude for receiving the highest Afghan Private Sector Award from Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) for his efforts towards the successful expansion of Air Corridor. “It was the most welcome surprise at a significant time.”

In his speech delivered in that meeting President Ghani said that in addition to air cargo corridors, transit land routes were also needed.
