They said Wednesday that samples of the minaret had been taken and would be sent to Italy for more research. An international group is planned to work on the project to strengthen the minaret with world standards.
The Herat minaret is in danger of collapse and the Aga Khan Development Network decided to save this from collapsing.
“The samples will be sent to Italy for testing of materials. An elite international team works on this,” Arash Bostani, AKDN’s project manager said.
Separately, ministry of information and culture says that they would start strengthening and repairing the fifth minaret after necessary researches.
