AT News

KABUL: At least one Afghan security personnel was killed and two others wounded after an Afghan military helicopter made an emergency landing in Kajaki district of southern Helmand province, officials said on Monday.

A security official, who was talking on condition of anonymity, said that a Black Hawk chopper made an emergency landing in which one Afghan security force was killed and two others injured.

But Omar Zwak, provincial governor spokesman has confirmed the incident and said that two people were wounded in the incident. He said the cause for the emergency landing is not clear yet. The wounded were evacuated to a safe site, he added.

The 215 Maiwand corps refrains from comments to the incident.

Helmand is one of the insecure provinces in southern Afghanistan, where the Taliban have a strong presence and carry out deadly attacks against the Afghan security forces.
