Army helicopter crashes in Parwan; wounds 6 aboard

AT-KABUL: A military helicopter crashed in Koh Safi district of Parwan on Saturday, wounding at least six army crews aboard.
Parwan governor’s spokeswoman Wahida Shahkar said that two Afghan army helicopters were landing in Mandiqo area of the district when one of them crashed due to a technical problem this morning.Six ANA personnel were killed or wounded in the incident, she said without giving further details.
Minister of Defense Spokesman Jawid Ghafoor however narrates a different count of casualty. He told AfghanistanTimes that only six crewmembers were injured in the crash.
Alkozai Ahmadi, commander of the Afghan Forces Coordination Center in Parwan, confirmed the helicopter crash, but provided no information about casualties.
However, a Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid claimed that their fighters shot down the helicopter. He said all onboard Afghan commandos were killed in the incident.
