Attacking diplomatic places is prohibited according to international law, says UN

Kabul: The Secretary General of the United Nations has condemned the attack on the consular section of the Russian Embassy in Kabul.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Monday, in response to the suicide attack on the Russian Embassy in Kabul: “Attacks against civilians and diplomatic missions are prohibited under international law.”

At around 11:00 a.m. on Monday, a suicide bomber blew himself up in the consular section of the Russian Embassy in Kabul.

In this attack, 8 people were killed and 12 people were injured. Two Russian diplomats are also among the dead.

In response to this attack, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has requested the Taliban to identify and punish its perpetrators.

The Taliban also said in a statement that they will pay special attention to the security of the Russian Embassy in Kabul.

It should be mentioned that the responsibility of the attack on the Russian Embassy in Kabul has been taken by ISIS.
