AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The United States’ weather flight’s mission at the Bagram airbase has installed a modern weather radar system to cover more area of Afghanistan.
According to a news report published by the Dvidshub, the 455th Expeditionary Operations Support Squadron weather flight’s mission has installed the new radar system to keep close eye on the country’s weather and protect assets at the airbase.
The new system would enable the flight’s mission to predict weather and instruct, accordingly, the aircrafts coming in and out of the airbase.
Dvidshub quoted the 455th EOSS weather flight chief as saying, “Every hour we take observations to make sure we’re getting current weather readings to provide to the base populace.”
Tech Sgt. Andrea Gray said that the weather forecast could greatly affect the missions.
It is said the success of the coalition forces’ operations and missions greatly depend on the accurate weather information received through the radar system.
