Campaign season; Security put on high alert in Herat
AT-KABUL: Herat police chief on Tuesday put the security forces on high alert to rebuff any threat ahead of election campaign in this western province.
Afghan National Police Army and Intelligence forces jointly have conducted military maneuver in the city of Herat provinces in order to ensure candidates safety as well as pave the ground for a peaceful election campaigns in the province, said a statement issued by Herat Police Chief Press office.
According to Statement Herat Police Chief Aminullah Amarkhil termed running of military maneuver a preparation for controlling security for election campaigns in the province.
Hundreds of soldiers and officers of Afghan forces have participated in the joint military maneuver, which was warmly welcomed by candidates and Herat dwellers.
