CEO’s Twitter account hacked

AT-KABUL: The Twitter account of the chief executive Abdullah Abdullah has been attacked and hacked by the cyber hackers, his office said Sunday.

“Unidentified hackers have crippled Abdullah’s twitter account and hacked it since 7:00pm Saturday,” Abdullah’s deputy spokesman Jawid Faisal said.

“It is early to blame specific figures or clusters for hacking the account, but our technical team is working to get back the control of the account as soon as possible,” Faisal said.

He said the messages come from the address of the chief executive were discredit until restoration.

The hackers have replaced Abdullah’s account with unusual sentences.

The last message tweeted from the account with the Enlightenment Movement hashtags said: “I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.”

Abdullah’s Twitter account with 43,000 followers was also verified by Twitter Company.

Although cyber war heated up in recent years in Afghanistan, often governmental and nongovernmental websites hacked by unknown hackers, but this is the first time that CEO twitter hacked.
