China opposes violent extremism in all its manifestations, said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Hua Chunying, assuring Beijing’s continued support to Afghan govt. and people in their efforts to combat terrorism.
KABUL: The government of China expressed shock by the deadly attack on the Afghan girls’ school in Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan and strongly condemned such violent acts.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Hua Chunying said, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of the victims and extend sincere condolences to the bereaved families.”
“China opposes violent extremism in all its manifestations. We will continue our firm support for the Afghan government and people in their efforts to combat terrorism and safeguard national security and stability,” she said, adding, “We also stand ready to work with the international community to help Afghanistan realize peace at an early date.”
It needs to be pointed out that the recent abrupt US announcement of complete withdrawal of forces from Afghanistan has led to a succession of explosive attacks throughout the country, worsening the security situation and threatening peace and stability as well as people’s life and safety.
“China calls on foreign troops in Afghanistan to take into full account the security of people in the country and the region, pull out in a responsible manner and avoid inflicting more turmoil and suffering on the Afghan people.”
A massive car bombing followed with two back-to-back IED blasts near a girl’s school in western part of Kabul city have claimed the lives of over 50 people, most of them school students.
Another 100 people received injuries, some of them are in critical health conditions.
The horrific attack targeted schoolgirls of Sayed Al-Shuhada School located in Dasht-e-Barchi area in PD13. The incident happened at around 4:27pm local time on Saturday, when the students were leaving the school.
