Cotton-processing factory launched in Balkh province

Kabul: A cotton processing factory with the capacity of processing 70 tons of cotton per day launched in Balkh province.

The manager of this factory says that he started operation of this factory with an investment of two million dollars, and now 100 labors are working in this factory.

He added that this factory has the capacity to process 70 tons of cotton in one day.

Seyed Hashem Hashemi, the manager of the factory, said “In the future, we have a plan to create an oil production factory here and turn the cotton spinning factory into yarn.”

On the other hand, the workers who are busy working in this factory say that now they can prepare a bite of bread for their family by working in this factory.

Nur Agha, a worker, said Tolo news “We are very happy for our businessmen to build this kind of factory for us and we become employees of this factory so that we don’t go out of the country in these smuggling routes.”

However, the officials of the Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment say that they are committed to solve the challenges of investors in this province.

Asadullah Asadi, head of the Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said: “We have pursued the same policies that our businessmen should meet the same standards as the neighboring countries and the world»

Currently, nearly 300 factories are operating in the food and clothing production sectors in Mazar-e-Sharif city. However, the increase in the price of electricity and the lack of raw materials are major challenges for these factories.
