KABUL: Afghanistan has recorded 242 new cases of coronavirus and 10 deaths around the country in the past 24 hours, said the Ministry of Public Health on Sunday.
The total tally since the outbreak of the epidemic has reached 65,728 cases around the country.
The new cases came positive out of 1,493 suspected samples tested in different laboratories during this period of time, the ministry said in a statement.
During these hours, 96 patients were fully recovered and discharged from hospital.
The total recoveries exceeded 55,886 and the deaths to 2,802 around the country since the outbreak of the pandemic started over a year ago.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 3,444,120 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 166,177,685.
