KABUL: Afghanistan recorded 275 new Covid-19 cases and six deaths within past 24 hours, health ministry said on Monday.
The total tally since the outbreak of the epidemic hit the country reached to 60,563. The ministry said that the new cases were recorded out of 1,911 suspected samples tested in laboratories. During the last 24 hours, 170 patients were recovered from the virus.
The total number of recoveries exceeded to 53,561 while more than 2,648 lost their lives since the spread of the pandemic started over a year ago.
This comes as Pakistan is intending to close crossing points with Afghanistan as the numbers of cases have been intensifying across the region.
