KABUL: Afghanistan has recorded 70 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths around the country in the past 24 hours, said the Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday.

The total tally since the outbreak of the epidemic has reached 56,454 cases.

The ministry said the new cases were positive out of 2,064 suspected samples tested during this period of time.

Another 705 patients have fully recovered in the same time.

The total recoveries have exceeded 51,373 and the deaths to 2,484 across the country since the outbreak of the pandemic started one year ago.
