By Shamim Shahid-PESHAWAR: After a break of around 18 days, the Pak-Afghan borders both at Torkham, Khyber and Chaman BalAgency Baluchistan was opened for the stranded people from both sides on Tuesday morning. The crossings in according to decision will also remain open on Wednesday.
Since early morning, hundreds of people have thronged the Pak Afghan border at Torkham. They were also included those around 200 persons were living in under construction mosque at the border town of Landi Kotal since February 17 last.
The tribesmen present at Torkham informed that only those Afghan and Pakistani nationals are allowed to cross over the border and reach on their destinations who are in possession of valid visa’s for both the countries. They further said that neither Afghan nationals who are in possession of valid visa for Pakistan are not allowed to enter. And similar is the response to Pakistani nationals who intend to visit/enter Afghanistan through valid visa. Shakir Afridi, President of Khyber Transporters informed that hundreds of trucks loaded with millions of rupees goods are not allowed to cross over the border from both sides. Pak Afghan border both at Torkham and Chaman opened by Pakistani authorities only for two days.
